Abstract
Current work carries out a simulation of an experiment on radiation sterilization of bone implants in the GEANT4 software package. The uniformity of irradiation of cortical bone fragments was assessed and the conditions of radiation treatment were determined, under which the dose distribution in the sample is more uniform. Thus, for each value of the thickness of the irradiated sample, it is possible to select the type of irradiation, the energy of the particle beam, geometric parameters and install additional modifiers to obtain optimal processing schemes to ensure maximum uniformity of irradiation. The dependences of the type of absorbed dose distributions on the geometric parameters and characteristics of the source are investigated. Based on the obtained information, practical recommendations have been developed to optimize the parameters of the technology of radiation treatment of bone implants used at the second stage of combined sterilization methods.
