This volume “Neutrons, Sciences and Perspectives” presents a series of articles that emphasize and demonstrate the universality of the opportunities offered by neutron scattering techniques in wide domains of fundamental research and applications. These papers make good use of the specific properties of neutrons, such as their high penetration in most materials, their interaction with magnetisation, their ability to probe all nuclei and their selectivity between isotopes of the same atom.
The different contributions focus on a few significant cases where the contribution of neutron scattering has been essential. Often written in a pedagogic style, the texts address researchers and students interested in this important experimental technique, easily accessible at several large facilities operated at the European level.
