Fast neutron radiography appears as a promising tool for large industrial components testing. The solid-state nuclear track detectors made of poly-allyl diglycol carbonate may be an alternative imaging tool. The presented work aimed to identify the main parameters necessary for the performance of fast neutron imaging using a DD neutron source. The parameters were determined using simulations in MCNP and TrackP, and experiments performed with the Pu–Be neutron source. The thickness of the polyethylene radiator, the etching conditions, and the method of scanning of the resultant image were proposed.
